Persimmon Cookies

 

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup persimmon pulp (mushy ripe)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 cup raisins (opt)
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix ingredients in the order they are listed. Cream the shortening and sugar first, then add the rest of the ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
