Cajun Rice
1 pound
ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 bell pepper
3 pieces celery, chopped
1 1/2 cup raw rice
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1/4 cup green onion tops, chopped
3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1 bay leaf
1 can (14 ½ oz) tomatoes
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 cup water
Brown meat. Add onion, celery, and bell pepper. Cook
until onions are transparent. Add raw rice and cook 4
minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from fire, add all
other ingredients, and bake at 350 degrees in shallow
roasting pan, tightly covered for 45-60 minutes until rice
is tender. Remove bay leaf and serve.
