Sweetheart Salad

 

1 large can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons Knox gelatin
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 3-oz packages cream cheese
2 tablespoons cherry juice
12 maraschino cherries
1 canned milk or 1 carton whipping cream
1/4 cup cold water

 

Heat pineapple and sugar. Add gelatin which has been dissolved in cold water. Add juices. Cool. Add cherries to cream cheese [chop cherries fine]. Put in refrigerator until slightly firm. Whip cream and fold in mixture. Place in refrigerator to set.
