Old Fashioned Beef Stew
1/2 cup flour Mix flour, salt and pepper. Coat meat with flour mix; brown in Crisco. Add water and bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 hours.
4 carrots Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. If desired thicken stew with 1 c cold water and 2-4 T flour. Stir into stew. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
